- Headwaters rise in Mt Barney National Park and are in relatively pristine condition
- Upper catchment has been extensively cleared for agriculture, grazing and dairying
- Mid and lower reaches flow through rural residential and urban areas
- Several aquaculture facilities are located along the banks of the Logan River near its mouth
