2011 Award categories

| | eWater -Water Sensitive Urban Design Award
Open to multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers, landscape architects, urban designers, ecologists, planners or land developers for projects that implement best practice water sensitive urban design. See the 2011 winner. |
| | WaterSecure - Research Award
Open to individual students, universities, researchers, research institutions and consultants engaged in waterway health research work. Individual applicants must have completed over 90% of the work themselves otherwise joint applications must be submitted. See the 2011 winner. |
| | BMT WBM - Government Award
Open to all levels of government agencies – local, state and federal – not including universities. Entries can include projects undertaken in partnership with private enterprise or other stakeholders. See the 2011 winner. |
| | Seqwater - Rural Award
Open to catchment and landcare groups, primary producers, community groups and landowners for rural or non-urban projects which benefit waterway health. See the 2011 winner. |
 | Humes - Industry Award
Open to industry sectors such as manufacturing, commerce, development, retail groups or fishing for projects aimed at improving the management of water, or the state of waterways. See the 2011 winner. |
| Brisbane Airport - Community Award
Open to community groups, not-for-profit organisations, community members and non-government organisations for projects which have resulted from community action or demonstrate a high degree of participation from the community. See the 2011 winner. |
| | SEQ Water Grid - Clean Up Award
Open to industry, government, community and individuals, for efforts that address the issue of waterway litter. See the 2011 winner. |
| Veolia Water Australia - Education Award
Open to organisations, schools, teachers, students and education centres that are conducting waterway health education and engagement programs. See the 2011 winner. |
 | Queensland Urban Utilities - Waterways Champion Award
Open to individuals who have made major and sustained contributions to improving waterways. Individuals can be nominated by either themselves or a third party. Please note - the Waterways Champion is not eligible for the Minister’s Grand Prize. See the 2011 winner. |
| Minister’s Grand Prize
Supported by the Department of Environment and Resource Management
The Minister’s Grand Prize, worth $10 000, will be awarded to the most innovative and outstanding winner of all the Award categories. See the 2011 winner. |
2011 Conditions of Entry
- Entries, including images and supporting documents, must be received by 5pm Wednesday 27 April 2011.
- The project must have been conducted in South East Queensland which includes the area from the Queensland-New South Wales border, north to Noosa and west to the Great Dividing Range.
- The project must have produced major results between 1 January and 31 December 2010, except for Waterways Champion Award.
- Information and images contained in the application or supplied as video may be reproduced in Healthy Waterways’ promotion and publicity materials.
- Entries and all supporting documents will not be returned to entrants.
- Entries should reflect the Healthy Waterways Vision.
- Entries are judged by an independent panel of industry experts and their decision is final.
