MiniHead2
Previous strategy
The SEQ Healthy Waterways Strategy 2007-2012 (SEQHWS) builds on the body of scientific knowledge and wide-ranging experience gained from its precursor, the South East Queensland Regional Water Quality Management Strategy (SEQRWQMS 2001).

SEQRWQMS 2001 was an important stage in the pathway to achieving the South East Queensland Healthy Waterways Partnership’s vision for the region’s waterways and catchments. The majority of management actions committed to in SEQRWQMS 2001 have been completed and valuable lessons have been learned which have helped shape its successor, the SEQ Healthy Waterways Strategy 2007-2012. Significant achievements arising from this first strategy include wastewater treatment plant upgrades totaling $500 million and improved understanding of the complex aquatic ecosystems in SEQ.
