Water by Design is the face of the Strategy for Water Sensitive Design in South East Queensland, an initiative of Moreton Bay Waterways and Catchments Partnership. The Partnership is working with government and industry representatives to develop a regionally consistent approach for tackling the irreversable impacts that urban development has on the health of our waterways and the use of our water resources. The Strategy for Water Sensitive Design contributes to the development of the South East Queensland Regional Water Quality Management Strategy (SEQRWQMS).

This site has been developed to assist industry and government bring together knowledge, experiences and expertise to improve the adoption of water sensitive urban design in South East Queensland.

Water by Design provides access to information relating to the application of WSUD in South East Queensland. You can use it to:

  • Track progress on key initiatives and WSUD projects such as the development of a new policy and planning framework for WSUD in SEQ
  • View and download technical design guidelines and standards for various WSUD elements relevant to SEQ
  • Locate SEQ examples of WSUD application on the WSUD Site Register and for more detail check out the case study sites from SEQ and around Australia
